I was just reading in the forum about how to clean and deodorize a garbage disposal. I found some very good answers but was puzzled about something. Many suggested hot water with their remedies. I didn't think you were supposed to run hot water while running a garbage disposal. I'm sure my disposer book stated not to run hot water when running the disposer. I always thought that was rather strange. How could hot water hurt it, and how do you really cut through the grease and such to get it clean without hot water? Can someone comment on this?
When the weather gets colder and the overnight temperature dips below freezing, safeguard your plumbing by unscrewing your garden hoses. This prevents water from freezing in the hose and pipes from bursting.
