Suzanne Horton is creating a new buzz and becoming known as the up and coming, modern day Martha Stewart for the savvy single gal and do-everything empowered moms in the US. A driven executive and originally a custom homebuilder in a prior life prior to becoming one of the few recognized female corporate executives in the digital media and male dominated homebuilding arenas, she represents a beacon of light and laughter for those gals who want to take control of their homes and empower their lives through showing them how to do DIY home projects. She then inspires women to take that confidence to go out and help improve the lives of those around them.
As the former CEO and now the guiding “Chief Jane” visionary and webisode host of BeJane.com, the leading brand for women in the $80B female DIY space, she’ll strap on her sassy pink toolbelt and show women how to use power tools and educate women on hot new home products just out on the market. She has been dedicated to creating and designing a new vision and social networking home website for BeJane.com to create a new Home Power Portal for Women to educate them on how to buy, build and renovate a home and she has gathered a team of experts to provide instructional expertise in all home areas to make it simple and all in one place for the busy modern gal.
Suzanne is the real deal; she has 20 years of hard earned experience as a veteran leader in the home industry with various roles as a custom homebuilder and interior designer of nearly 100 homes; the CEO of BeJane.com; recognized General Manager and leader of the nation’s leading site for new home listings, homebuilder.com; has close ties with the consortium of the top 35 national homebuilders in the US who acquired BeJane.com, and teamed up with the National Association of Homebuilders to create websites for 4000 custom homebuilders nationwide. Her expertise was acclaimed when she was invited as an honored guest speaker at London’s Royal Institute of British Architecture, as the American expert on how the Internet has impacted the residential home building industry in the U.S.
Prior to joining Homebuilder.com, Ms. Horton led the Internet investment team at American Express and devised the global strategy for executing key technology deals for a $32 million investment portfolio; she also managed the prioritization for the global implementation of $350 million in technology initiatives and won the Chairman’s Award for Quality.
Suzanne is a graduate of the Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University where she earned her MBA and studied abroad at the London Business School.
A profound priority for Suzanne has been her support of philanthropic organizations that advance female empowerment, and she has dedicated considerable attention to her role as an Advisor to actress Fran Drescher’s Cancer Schmancer Movement, which lobbies for improvements in female health legislation on Capital Hill.
She has also teamed up very visibly to support Habitat for Humanity to bring more visibility to the need for affordable housing around the world. She recently interviewed Randall Wallace, Director of Secretariat and writer of Braveheart, who founded Hollywood Habitat and created a video to spread the news about their Power Women Power Tools event to encourage more women to join in to build new homes for those in need. She has recently been featured all over the news on ABC, CBS and KTLA and in numerous home articles nationwide.
With her strength in both the business world and the non-profit sector, and with a lifelong focus on empowering women, Suzanne is perfectly suited to lead Be Jane to the next level of motivation and mobilization. So get ready for a burst of new power and inspiration to enter your lives!
